LarWay

Local file sharing without the clutter.

In developmentAndroid 9+Flutter
IdeaWhy it exists

A local file-sharing app built to strip out everything that makes apps like Zapya feel cluttered.

The idea I keep coming back to: sharing a file shouldn't require either person to dig through folders or babysit a transfer.

PlanWhat it will do
  • Browse the other device's full file system remotely, once permitted. Nobody has to hand over or touch anyone's phone to find what they need.
  • Smart default sort per content type: videos by size, largest first; documents by date, most recent first.
  • Large batches of uncompressed files are compressed before sending, so a few thousand loose files don't cost extra time or space.
  • Transfers keep running reliably in the background, with live progress in the notification shade, even from the lock screen.
PrinciplePermission first

Remote browsing only starts after the device owner explicitly allows it, and the owner can end it at any time. Nothing leaves either phone except the files you choose to send, and transfers stay on your local connection.
